The Photo On the Wall

'That poor woman', sobs her man of sixty years
Remaining strong, although she cannot breathe
The photos on the wall show past years of cheer
And, what did such a beautiful woman do for such a horrid disease?
Nothing - Life is like that. Random.
For unfortunately both the good AND the bad
But she never complained, or lost her humor
And the young photo on the wall, could've suggested stardom
No one knows, 'tis why so sad
When and how we leave here.

Grasping her few last breaths
In her last few hours of life
For theirs was a relationship with depth
Her husband can't stop, he just cries
She wants to go, she says it's time
No more of this panting and suffering
The nurse acts tough, but when alone, tears up
The strong exterior just an act, a mime
Setting her off, were the memories hanging
All throughout the years, hung up
The photos on the wall ....
