Rainbow Sky (in June)

Summer
Family
Mimosas in the morning
The sun is always shining somewhere-
I can see that through the persistent holding rainbow in the sky.
The act is over but the show is still on.
Looking for the first star
(It's still hiding
it's a secret
that it's almost ten pm)

There's still three hundred miles of gas left- whaddaya say
Why don't we just keep on driving?
Keep mind to these experiences
Please don't forget to live
See the light when you're fighting the devil every minute
Think back to all of these times
You're alive dear please don't forget that

Turning off the road
Eirean in the air
The star, she finally came out to say hello

Author's Note
A poem I wrote quickly on a car ride in the evening driving west from New Jersey from my cousin's bridal shower. It was the day after summer equinox and there was so much beauty in the sky which didn't get dark until 10 pm. My Grammie (who is someone I look up to greatly) was driving the car; this poem is very inspired by her.
