Monsters Still Greet Me

An empty vow resonates
Hollow in its promise
Always corrupting
Never delivering
Surrendering control to a fake reality

The monsters still greet me
Like they are family
Bleeding the poison
Hoping I will succumb again
Corroding my happiness

The burning acid of madness
Scarring my mind
Every night I die alone
Every morning I am resurrected
It’s my Groundhog Day

Tranquility has no place
The battle rages on
An unknown war behind closed doors
Broken mirrors to hide the ugly reflection
That has become me
