A Dream's Demise

Seeking balance with reality & how it should be
Coping but losing hope in a dysfunctional society
I can see deceit's receipt broadcasted on t.v.
Uploaded code is known as the American dream

Nothing is as it seems as we're played like a game
Distracted by glitz, glamour and pursuits of fame
Insane in the membrane describes what I see
So maybe I should just focus on my family

But empathy that resides deep inside of my soul
Says that upliftment of others should be the goal
Yet it gets old and tiring desiring to see a change
Where outside panes everything looks strange

Coveting a change so I pursue a different view
So what should I do? I have not a single clue
Should I accept the truth and kill my pipe dream?
Or recruit loyal Soldiers for a unified team?
