schizo
you are the soft earth after it rains
arousing my senses making me feel safe
rooted to the ground...limbs to the sky
I'm breaking but you hold me here--
in this memory when we were kids climbing trees
summertime innocence is sacred
before plates hit the wall
shattering against fits of madness
you never saw it coming
this schizo nightmare
little brenda I keep you hidden
amongst the library books
musty...smelling of freedom
go through the wardrobe and enter Narnia
Mr. Tumnus will be serving tea
take your little girl hopes there
Judy Bloom knows the way
books magical...escape routes
forever locked in my insanity
tumbling into delusions
endless pills to cement me to the wall
where I stay stuck...demons fade
so does my imagination
drool...trapped in this state of nothingness
I hear you from time to time...brenda
stirring in the diary of my childhood
forever dreaming of the future
perhaps there will be a happy ending still
freefall through paranoia's trap door
I won't let the demons get you
they've come close I won't let them have you
the part of me who remains pure
brenda...vulnerable always beautiful in her flowering youth
write yourself a new story
by all means feature schizophrenia
write a book...they're waiting...
