Particles
Dust Particles fall
to lay on skin,
Skin, the gift of ancestral kin
evokes reminiscence of what was,
what is, will never be
Water nourishes
these carbon-based shells
holding our bright souls
now dun, for soon,
rivers run
dry
while poisons
fill
crippled
lungs
as we wither,
crumble and dispose
as dust
blown
into the storm.
