Afterthought
When I sit, I watch the damn world past me by
I watch how so many people go about their damn day
Watching how people are so busy with their lives
Moving about in a hurry and with a sense of something on their minds
Many times, I watch things go by as I am sitting out on the sidelines of life
I’m one largely an afterthought in all of this
A loner who’s never experienced joy or sorrow
Only experienced pain, dispair and isolation
Who’s expressionless face stares into the world
In a sea of masses being drowned out by those who shout Me, Me and Me.
Many times feeling forgotten by those around me
Feeling like the world has forgotten about me
In many instances, I feel like the world has left me
Has looked at me as an aforethought, after everyone has done it
The world only knows me as a ghost in the wind
Never seeing me for being me or for who I am
So faceless that people never bother to notice me, unless I do something stupid.
Whatever accomplishments or achievements I may have gained on this planet
Are worthless because No one bothered to care about them unless your famous
It’s why bother achieving or accomplishing something, when no one’s gona notice them
It’s empty and hollow when no one says a damn thing in this world
It shows how society is when they notice you for your mistakes
But never notices you for your accomplishments or achievements
It’s like being forgotten and an afterthought, your not worth anything
Your worth nothing and never worth the salt that came with the bag
It’s why when people don’t notice you or see you
You feel as if you feel off the planet and seen as an afterthought in someone’s mind.
Your that person who’s so hidden that even a ghost notices you in the void
That the world forgot about you and left you in the dust.
It’s why the world moves so fast that we forget about those we left behind
The ones who never speak or hear from
The ones who sit silently and in the shadow of others
Who never get to shine or never get to share that limelight
Just think, those silent ones that people ignore so much
Are the first ones who are gone from us and then we wonder whatever happened to them
We should never forget the silent ones because those are the ones who watch everything
Who see everything and never speak because the world never lets them be heard
Because It’s a shame that the silent ones are always an afterthought
And silence maybe golden but it’s deadly when we forget those who are silent.
