Great message...gets one thinking...

Must admit... that's what I'd hoped...that we will prevail...
that Art will overcome greed and corruption...and folks can no longer endure... the poison that drips
from the mouths of the liars...
they will no longer dare to ignore...Ely

If the pen is mightier than the sword, then we poets have some sort of 'obligation' to pen it. Deep down I believe the arts & creative action are the only possiblility to save us all - but then again, the powerful First World War poetry which was 'revived' in the lead-up to WW2 to warn people that war is shit didn't manage to stop it. Perhaps poetry's use also has other avenues of being a change-catalyst.

The most pressing problem
I can see... ?
all too often the war
comes to you and me...

and I don't think I'm
likely to go down...willingly... Ely

I'm sure your first paragraph was my last comment to your poem...
Yet this is another well written piece,
There's so much more in art that we could have used to save this world....
