Was, Is And What Will Be

I don't believe in things unseen,
intangibles, maybe even dreams.
Though I question my thoughts now,
I want to keep on hating somehow.

That was me.

No need to begin life anew,
for black is my life's only hue.
Still, I keep asking my heart,
but he doesn't know where to start.

That was me.

Days filled with rain,
yesterday, today, tomorrow, again and again.
I am so lost in this maze,
left alone in life's race.

That was me.

In my darkened tunnel you shed light from afar.
Like sun rays in the morning, you stayed to warm my heart.
No longer lonely, no longer sad.

A girl with a rather small heart,
maybe hers too doesn't know where to start.
A girl who couldn't let go of a ghost,
and yet she's the one who loved the most.

That was you.

A misunderstood butterfly,
in a garden of melancholy she flies.
Among flowers that never listen,
tears in her eyes, I see them glisten.

That was you.

With hidden wounds that doesn't seem to heal.
Bringing pain and scars, killing the happiness that she hopes to feel.
As it tears her beautiful soul,
it keeps her from being whole.

That is you.

In your darkened tunnel I'll shed light from afar.
Like sun rays in the morning, I'll stay to warm your heart.

In this river of blackness, we'll pull each other to the shore.
In a sea full of gladness, we'll swim towards heaven to grieve nevermore.
No longer be lonely, no longer be sad.
Us. Together. Forever.

Author's Note
My muse for this poem-
https://deepundergroundpoetry.com/poets/heyycyanides/

In a parallel universe, dimension and time, there's a chance that I'm the one who wrote this song. And if that's the case, I'm pretty damn sure I wrote it for you, my beautiful Meg.
