The Balance
The Balance
Think
of the entire economy
as a series
of islands.
Around them
is fish.
The more fish
they take out,
the lower
the water is.
If they eat a fish,
the water
goes down,
so they control
the amount
of water
by how much
they eat.
If they eat nothing,
the water will rise
and eventually
drown them.
If they eat too many,
all the fish die
from being too crowded
as the water disappears.
There is
an average amount
of water
that needs
to be
in the sea.
Above that
is drowning,
and below that
is starvation.
The system
will balance
itself.
