Please show me where Thalia, the muse of Comedy and lyric poetry.  expressed the idea that any poet she inspired should (or must) write in rhyme or demanded that they do so.

Of course.  But where is it noted, or where is she depicted as saying, that she wants poets to write in rhyme or that she thinks that poetry **has to contain rhyme** (and especially end rhyme) if it is to be good?

So far as I know,  the answer is nowhere.  But if  you have actual evidence to the contrary, please provide it.

I suspect, however that you have none, and will respond to this request,  if you deign to do so, with ad hominems and red herrings.

Poets sometimes use the words" rhyme, rhythm, etc." to mean poetry. This is what l wanted to say here. Thalia wanted people to write poetry confer on them her lines. JZ

If your claim about the meaning of "rhyme" and "rhythm" is true,  then your lines "Why don't you tell us why and how you want your poets to use rhyme" conveys something entirely different from what a plain reading of it conveys since, by your lights,  it actually means  "Why don't you tell us why and how you want your poets to use poetry".  It becomes a question of what Thalia thinks poetry is to be used for, what aim it is to accomplish,  not how and why Thalia wants a  poet to make his or her lines rhyme.  
 
But is it true?  Please back up your claim.  Which poets in particular use the words "rhyme" and "rhythm" to mean "poetry", especially poetry that contains no rhymes?  
 
And please provide me with some evidence that Thalia " wanted people to write poetry confer on them her lines", even assuming that these words of yours make sense.

By the way, no one breaks his/her head to come up with verse.  They may rack/wrack their brains to do so.  But to break one's head would be to cause enough brain injury to render the one who does this unable to do anything.
