Societal (In)Justice - (IV) Forgiveness

Voices crying for erasure
Coo in condescending pardon
We always believed in you
Mistakes are only human
To move up, you needed to fall down
You will never be as adored
Wrapping yourself in tatters of respect
Not everyone will let you move on, ever

Author's Note
The fourth piece in a poetic commentary of the current phenomenon of 'cancelling' someone. This piece deals with quickly yet incompletely forgive perceived slights. Some seem to forgive completely, some will never be satisfied no matter what is done.
