Societal (In)Justice - (III) Apology

You are sorry for being so horrifically wrong
For speaking so lightheartedly, carelessly
There were no conscious thoughts of malice
Or any thoughts, really, on reflection
Lack of thought is fatal in this day and age.
You realize the error of your ways
This mistake will never happen again
The world watches as you grovel at their feet.

Author's Note
The third poem in a series on how is so quick to assign blame, to 'cancel' a person. This piece is about the apology that always seems to follow after a so-called 'offense'.
