Dancing Towards the Light

I see you dancing
as I am lost in the dark
casting images in my mind
a prism of my broken soul
dark blue and red
of the cuts and bruises in my skin
reflecting my soon to come end

A dancing image of never to be
of an old poet
Master and broken man
light and dark in my mind
I will be lonely tomorrow
and much more tonight
whispering voices haunt me
As I stupidly fall
a glimpse of the beauty
of eyes so deep
catch me, as the razor falls

Hands tremble
the darkness loses me
dancing with devil
a hopeful fool
instability of losing his youth
within his broken mind
of lost loves and fears
silhouetted were the eyes
of something I will never see
dark turns to morning light

Terpsichore rises
the northern wind cuts me cold
I am lost
I am stupid
l am lonely
the floor is no more
Dante waits for me
displaying all
I want to know her more

Senses teased
an old fool breaks
I want you
across the screen
of your mind, I want to be in
wrapping you in my forgotten dusty thoughts
but sadly I fall once more

Dance with me into the light
an embraced moment
encircled thoughts of your lips
a single kiss and sigh
an enlightened goodbye
I close my eyes to now die
no light can save me now
we’ve reached the end of whatever this was to be
no tears shall be cried
because no one knows I am there
I wish I had kissed you
But now I am gone
I will be lonely tomorrow
but lost in thought tonight.
