Word of Me

If you are asked
Word of me
Tell them I am well
I am writing poetry
As I am want to do
Speak of my new job
And the happiness it brings
Keeping me busy
Tell them I am living easy
That I am content
At this point in my life
And whether they
Wish me well
Or evil
Is none of my concern
I am not all things
To all people
I am who I am
I am comfortable
Being me
Living a quiet
And peaceable life
As I age
─ On second thought,
If they ask of me,
Simply tell them I am
