i hope you understand my fear of the imperfect
how for me a moderate relationship just will not do
i hope you will endure my constant search for sparks of passion
i hope you can forgive me for not settling for less than i deserve
even when i’m not entirely sure just what that is

I could not be happier about the fact you picked up on the meaning of that uncapitalized 'i'. It was put there for an underlying reason and you just looked right through the poem and uncovered it.

This one is very special. It reads like the centerpiece of your opus - the key to understanding much of what followed. But there is some ambiguity in it.

Thank you so much for your praise and for your way of looking at my works as part of a whole instead of just some random seperate scribbles! This means a lot to me.

The idea of (mis)interpreting this as
"To my future love(s) - you have been warned" is more than tempting. That would give the thing a completely different twist. ;-)

I liked the honesty because many times, a lot of folks don't have it all figured out either, even when we're older.
