37,000 Feet Over Phoenix
Cloudless skies carry the day
and I'm away, like the winds
whispering sweet sentiment
into a soothing ear
37,000 feet over Phoenix
and I'm searching
the specks of reality
coming into view
the seconds tic slower
and I seem a million miles away
even as we sync, I cannot help but think
of the beauty in your sky
your eyes droplets of chocolate
melting as I turn your way
your words dripping elegantly
off those delicate lips
each one a breath of fresh air
I inhale, then stare
the descent is real and i feel
shivers shining in the desert
a horizon of hope, helpless
to the forces at hand
I stand, taking a closer look
I land in your arms
and smell the flowers in your hair
and I'm away, like the winds
whispering sweet sentiment
into a soothing ear
37,000 feet over Phoenix
and I'm searching
the specks of reality
coming into view
the seconds tic slower
and I seem a million miles away
even as we sync, I cannot help but think
of the beauty in your sky
your eyes droplets of chocolate
melting as I turn your way
your words dripping elegantly
off those delicate lips
each one a breath of fresh air
I inhale, then stare
the descent is real and i feel
shivers shining in the desert
a horizon of hope, helpless
to the forces at hand
I stand, taking a closer look
I land in your arms
and smell the flowers in your hair
