insults and truth

If you don't have anything nice to say then don't say anything at all,
Wasn't that what you said?
Yet you want the truth, even if it hurts,
Both requests I cannot abide,
For to me the truth only comes in one form,
An insult
And a compliment only shrouds its true nature,
A lie
Yet you want the latter,
A gratification not deserved,
That's what you all want,
And I can't, I just can't,
So I keep the trap shut,
But you force it open,
And the truth comes out
It overpowers you, and you never talk to me again.
It happens with all, and truth be told , it kind of hurts.
