Green eyed Monster

I see the green eyed monster lurking in the dark
Looking to prey upon weak and shallow hearts
Like mine and i’ll admit that a time or two
I let the green eyed monster change it’s red hue
To one green with envy and an envious lust
Of what I couldn’t have even though I tried you should trust
Not that I didn’t want these things badly enough
But the timing was never right, I was blockaded by stuff
To see those whom had what I wanted and taken for granted
Made me so angry and at the same time disenchanted
For what was to stop me from doing the very same
If I got what I wanted and didn’t have to play the game
As it was designed to be played for me no bending the rules
And stopped being the jealous wretch that I was and a fool
