A Voyage to Nowhere
I’ve sailed towards freedom
A lifetime it seems,
But only manage
To arrive in my dreams.
Stranded in this place
Like a ship on a reef,
Held fast in the embrace
Of heartache and grief
Unable to pull free
From its iron tight grip,
Trapped in the misery
On my now sinking ship
Desperation and anguish
Washes over my face,
Am I wasting my time
Sailing to this Imaginary place?
I’m a mariner who’s out of sort
Traversing this turbulent sea,
Searching for the nearest port
Where I can finally be free.
A lifetime it seems,
But only manage
To arrive in my dreams.
Stranded in this place
Like a ship on a reef,
Held fast in the embrace
Of heartache and grief
Unable to pull free
From its iron tight grip,
Trapped in the misery
On my now sinking ship
Desperation and anguish
Washes over my face,
Am I wasting my time
Sailing to this Imaginary place?
I’m a mariner who’s out of sort
Traversing this turbulent sea,
Searching for the nearest port
Where I can finally be free.
