Time runs its own rules. And everyone adopts them differently, I think.

Time has no rules here, m'dear...
and almost no one wears a watch...
there's no clock on the bank
and none in the bars
or restaurants

I remember this when I visited Cananea once. Life just sorta moves at its own pace and you can't rush it no matter what. I rather enjoyed it

Been through  Cananea... a couple of hundred miles north...it's well-known for the mining...
been in and out of the news of late...one of the big mining companies has apparently been refusing to do the clean up it promised from one of it's polluting spills. Shame on them!

Haven't been since 1990...I liked the town and remember the mine. Sad to hear that. Spoke with some people from the area a few years ago and they said much has changed since I was there.

If you turn up 'late' in Portugal it's usually only just starting (11.00p.m) and goes on to the wee small hours, children included.

Aye...much the same here...
folks start arriving somewhere aound nine...
and within a couple of hours they're way past warmed up...full of food and music...and dancing.
We can sit on the patio and listen
or go up on the mirador and watch if they're close by...all the
entertainment you could possibly want...and it's free...Ely
