Silence

Silence is never quiet.
If you listen closely
Hush, please be still
I beg, stay with me

We are kindred
Silence and I
Can’t be closer, us two
Let’s go for a stroll
We have much to show you.

Silence can shriek
Also scream
Render weak
Shatter a dream

It can stretch, it can bend
There from the start
So too at the end
Silence came first
And will certainly be last

Silence sighs, and cries
It lies, yet never dies
Silence supposedly sets you free
But that never happened for me.

If Silence speaks, listen with discerning heart
Listen too closely, alas, it will never depart
