Confessionals
It's burning down
and all that's left is ash
history, singed
fighting for air
there's a sadness holding on
but missed in the rubble
is the fear
fear of rebuilding
underperforming
building blocks destroyed
manipulated and toyed
but the crosses remain
life will abstain
for a moment
until when again
the bells toll
it's nearly midnight
hurry
the confessionals are all full
truth lies within the heart
and all that's left is ash
history, singed
fighting for air
there's a sadness holding on
but missed in the rubble
is the fear
fear of rebuilding
underperforming
building blocks destroyed
manipulated and toyed
but the crosses remain
life will abstain
for a moment
until when again
the bells toll
it's nearly midnight
hurry
the confessionals are all full
truth lies within the heart

Broke my HEART to see it burning, Tim. It was amazing to see the cross still standing.
Wonderful tribute.

Wasn't it up to 700 million last count? Or has it grown since then? Though it will never be the same, at least it will be a testament to preservation and restoration by people coming together.

I'm reading this on multiple levels here today. It's a tragic loss of history, architecture and sacred space. I also see this relating to human trust and truth. Beautifully written, Tim

Beautifully spilled Tim. Only the heart knows the truth of all things. Like a confessional human heart keeps secret safe within its wall until it opens up on its own.

A fitting tribute.
Oak beams from the 13th century burnt up - I wonder what stories went with them to their ashen grave.

So beautiful Tim! So stay with me here (Minx has trouble explaining) Truth just like beauty is subjective. Could I inspire one to live while at the same time encourage another to die? I have no FUCKING idea. But this I do know, to live without love is folly.

It's a tricky line that we try to maintain balance upon. Every time I have an answer a new question arises...thanks M

Truth, in my eyes, is making you stop whatever life has you doing...and cause you to look around and say "How can I make this life better?" And then inspire you to do just that!

Yes, actual truth lies in the heart, not necessarily in the church. I just wish I could pray away the veracity of my sins, which are ever present Very wise words and a remarkable poem.
