To care with nothing
Five tongues, no food
And too many teeth, one voice
No one listens to.
It's a chore if nothing else
And if nothing else, just a shame.
Routinely, possibly just mundane,
That life long listing of priorities
Unquestionably prescribed.
I could find the reasons
But not the meaning.
The overlooked being all that's noticed
With nothing below,
And everything out of reach.
The times before times ahead
Always permeate the feeling of acceptance
Just a niggling doubt
That soon it could get better
But maybe it won't
Things were bad before,
The situation improved
Onwards and upwards, as they said
Pray this isn't the peak for you.
Five screams, no food, too many teeth
One responsible, no one listens.
Cradling the last scrap, of hope,
With faint smiles for the needy.
Rub dust from the bottle's teet
Cursing the diminishing nourishment
In spite of that given
Everything leading to everything again
Couldn't take more it seems
Could use it though
And too many teeth, one voice
No one listens to.
It's a chore if nothing else
And if nothing else, just a shame.
Routinely, possibly just mundane,
That life long listing of priorities
Unquestionably prescribed.
I could find the reasons
But not the meaning.
