It stiffens, then flops

Arousal from atrocity?
Clean, shaven raw, plucked perhaps
Another burrow too, clammy
Fetid fluids loosening the wound
It glistens then thickens
Coagulants to stiffen me
And they stiffen
Then flop
It's poetical
Maybe the way a rabbit cries,
Incites the fatherly lust
Of smothering protection,
Caressed to sleep,
Dear baby, don't wake up
My cold comfort.
The steadiest chest doesn't move
Covered until the breaths lose rhythm,
And chime singularly;
That golden silence of everlasting peace.
It's the way the rabbit cries
Forcing you to calm it,
No better way,
Than to cover it's eyes
And lay back it's head
In a tender clammy palm
Now now you'll say
Thinking of the coming serenity
It's but a moment
Just a moment
Snap
And it stiffens
Then flops
So peacefully
Laying at my feet
Coated in coagulant
And not a drop of blood in sight
