Desert Rain
Looking through the desert rain,
The child prays for a dream.
He only sees epitaph in his wake,
A dream that only eats life away,
He doesn't understand.
The child hears a countdown,
As he remembers the vanished years.
He looks through the dusty windowpane,
The past is something he could see,
He knew he wasn't a child anymore.
As he hears the air breathing into his head,
The sky is chained and it won't stop crying.
A cruel smile behind every ruin,
Behind every last mourning, a death alone.
When he's alone,
He hears the secrets of men.
When he opens the casket,
He hears the hymn of desert rain.
The child prays for a dream.
He only sees epitaph in his wake,
A dream that only eats life away,
He doesn't understand.
The child hears a countdown,
As he remembers the vanished years.
He looks through the dusty windowpane,
The past is something he could see,
He knew he wasn't a child anymore.
As he hears the air breathing into his head,
The sky is chained and it won't stop crying.
A cruel smile behind every ruin,
Behind every last mourning, a death alone.
When he's alone,
He hears the secrets of men.
When he opens the casket,
He hears the hymn of desert rain.
