give me peace

“…Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these

give me eyes
that i may see
beyond dark skies

give me ears
that i may hear
beyond stark fears

give me hands
that i may help
the fallen stand

give me lips
that i may speak
where silence grips

give me feet
that i may walk
thru narrow streets

giving love
that i may to
the humble prove

patience strong
when all the world
is going wrong

give forgiveness
when my heart
has failed to bless

give me peace
where conflicts rage
and woes increase

give me hearts
bereft of love
and torn apart

give me souls
deprived of hope
that i may mold

broken dreams
that hunger for
life’s healing stream
