Awoke All Alone

I awoke all alone,
Read the note by the bed.

I unlocked my phone so I could see what she said.

I am all done.
I am all through.

I have no purpose now,
I am lost without you.

I could do what I do,
Just try to survive.

My body ain't dead but it sure ain't alive.

I could do what I do,
I could try to move on.

But I ain't gonna lie,
I'd rather be gone.

I ain't gonna lie,
I'd rather be dead,
I'd rather not live after losing my head.

I'll Climb to the crest,
Heavy heart in my chest,
Let this weight pull me fast.
If I scream or I shout--those words will be my last.

I will die like a man,
hang my neck from a noose.
I will tighten it firm so I cannot get loose.

I will die like a man,
make metal meet the meat.
I will close my eyes as I drop to my feet.
Through all my strength,
I am thus beat.
