Image for the poem Hour Of Solitude

Hour Of Solitude

Sounds of rustling leaves
Fill the air as I watch the trees
Swaying in the wind
Colorful butterflies flit
From trees to flowers

Brightly hued petals
Bask in the warmth of the sun
A feast for my eyes
To delight in and savor
In my hour of solitude

A clear sky looms above me
Pale blue tufted with white clouds
Slowly drifting by
Trees glisten in midday sun
Their colors vibrant in the light

The chirping of birds
Breaks the silence of the hour
Intruding my reverie
I wish the day will not end
Night feels lonely without you
