like a canvas

with soft dabs
from this brush
to alleviate
the suffering
from the spots

A kinder treatment
needed to invigorate
the trusts needed
to unclench
the dismissive,
selfish pricks
who could never
serenade
such a work of art

I know they clawed at you
without a care
for your sensitivities
that's why
I must remind you
that these impatient impulses
can be furnished
to fit you
in compassion
and approbation

The sigh signals me
that you are responding well
to the treatment
