The Lost
Are my words of any value?
Am I of any worth?
Do I matter most to you,
More than anything on this earth?
I worry when you’re gone,
Even more when you don’t call.
But honestly I deserve better,
Than what I will get from you at all.
You tell me that you love me,
You tell me that you care.
The truth is you care too much,
About success that isn’t there.
You want so badly to get ahead,
You don’t see me standing here.
I waited for you to notice,
I waited so long for you to hear.
Life is all about the love we have,
And those you hold so close.
You work too much, you’ll lose them,
And everything that matters most.
But I am moving on now,
I will do so at every cost.
I cannot change what has been done,
Only that I am no longer lost.
Am I of any worth?
Do I matter most to you,
More than anything on this earth?
I worry when you’re gone,
Even more when you don’t call.
But honestly I deserve better,
Than what I will get from you at all.
You tell me that you love me,
You tell me that you care.
The truth is you care too much,
About success that isn’t there.
You want so badly to get ahead,
You don’t see me standing here.
I waited for you to notice,
I waited so long for you to hear.
Life is all about the love we have,
And those you hold so close.
You work too much, you’ll lose them,
And everything that matters most.
But I am moving on now,
I will do so at every cost.
I cannot change what has been done,
Only that I am no longer lost.
