the snake entered the garden

I lay calmly in the garden,
Day in,
Day out,
Relaxed and free.

The world is at peace,
Everything in balance.

Until it bit me.

A snake,
New to this garden,
A threat to me,
And this peace.

We were all okay and balanced,
Until the snake entered the garden.
