Perfect Faces

I have a thorough eye for imperfection,
First I always see whats wrong with the picture
Before i can gently stroke the beauty with strokes of colourful literature, in appreciation
Maybe its because i believe so much in the notion of first impressions
Such that i am completely aware that most are rehearsed,
So I dare not be fooled
Not by those one minute glitters of rubbery diamonds
Masquerading as gems..
Daylight robbery presented in fancy circus shows..
Clowns in colourful masks, bright smiles, fine tuned tunes, friendly beasts and cuddly bears.
      Why,
Because deep down i know,
I know its all a cheap Ponzi scheme,
Behind those masks are untold stories that only karma can rewrite
i know the pain of a permanent smile presented to the world because its all they expect,
and i know how many whips the beast had to bear just to lose its nature.
Yes, I know of the scars you hide behind that beautiful mask
I know because i see through you
I see me when i look at you,
I  once was perfect too.
