I let you in.
Kind and unassuming,
I let you in.
You saw everything of me.
My beauty,
My pain.
You saw my love,
My hate.
I showed you all of me,
All my faults
And all my perfections.
And you loved the whole of it,
From my deepest fears,
To my greatest aspirations.
I thought it would stay like that forever.
At first,
You let me in too.
I saw the things you didn’t want others seeing,
The parts of your mind you showed to me and me alone.
One day something changed in you,
Something snapped.
You blocked me out,
I became just another person to you,
When I used to be the only person to you.
I still gave you my all,
Showed you my everything.
And you,
Shrugged it off.
My love,
My pain.
All of it,
Nothing.
Aloof and hesitating,
You shut me out.
I let you in.
You saw everything of me.
My beauty,
My pain.
You saw my love,
My hate.
I showed you all of me,
All my faults
And all my perfections.
And you loved the whole of it,
From my deepest fears,
To my greatest aspirations.
I thought it would stay like that forever.
At first,
You let me in too.
I saw the things you didn’t want others seeing,
The parts of your mind you showed to me and me alone.
One day something changed in you,
Something snapped.
You blocked me out,
I became just another person to you,
When I used to be the only person to you.
I still gave you my all,
Showed you my everything.
And you,
Shrugged it off.
My love,
My pain.
All of it,
Nothing.
Aloof and hesitating,
You shut me out.
