Black Girl Magic
As I sit here writing while endearing
You with my gaze
My pupils point to you and back to the page
Like an artisan painting a portrait
Of struggles unphrased
successes unpraised
Juxtapositions are flowing through your veins
I see you
Focussed on today
More focussed on the dismay
The next can bring
Hair a dancing flame
I want to run my hands through it and pick your brain
I'm staring at my saturated hands
Wondering if it will assist to withstand the
Calidity of your kinky kitchen
Long enough to remove your horn frames
Your vibrant face housing stress and might all the same
It's black girl magic
To cope with black girl pain
Though I cannot sing
I can’t help but
“Brown skin
You know I love your brown skin”🎶
The way the melanin reflects the motherland
And Lands before time
I’m Observing with an idle mind blind to the rooms confines
Beauty redefined
By a fresh regime
You radiate vitamin D
Your ‘essence’
Cannot be captured in a magazine
Though your circumstance
Recurrently mutes
The song the sparrow
Submerged
In your substance sings
Black Girl you can do anything.
Your back is braced for creation to fall on your shoulders
An embrace is like an escape to the cosmos
The stepping gospel
The Unnamed Apostle
Whose idols are thrown into brothels
Only to see to it you
Misunderstand the depth of thy soul
Peace rest in your smile
Life rests on your brows
Your edges ain't laid all the way
The waves are misplaced by your crown
Crown of thorns maybe
Crucified to bring forth a crystal
Black baby
You are my motivation
To stay in motion
My only hope is to mirror
That same potency
In this moment
The bouquet of chocolate roses
Energized by the sunrise
Black Girl magic
The source of Drive and Peace of mind
Black girl magic
It's a love redefined
Black girl magic,
Grace, and Enchantment
Always withstands the test of time
