Social fix

Phone is juice
It has become in such good use
Eager to check your latest newsfeed
(but what about me?)
Going through your sent and recieved messages
Comparing other people's beverages
We use our phone
Every day and night
Without us realising
What we are really missing
Is ourselves
Checking our phones is an ongoing attraction
But a constant battle to win over our satisfactions
Are we forgetting healthy ways to remain offline?
A social media detox
Always do me good in time
And I recommend that everyone should do too

Screen over face
Come on man, talk to me
Lost in thought
Gawping at my newsfeed
Scrolling through as your bursting to pee
(don't care, have no fear)
Want it, don't need it
Compare, don't compare others
Walking on lava
Walking on ice
Do we ever allow ourselves to think TWICE?!

In this generation, we want things fast
Afraid of coming last
Living in a rat race
Trying to get first place
(but what about me?)
Give it a toss, see what fate brings
Roll the dice again
And again
Leave that phone alone
And come with me
Know yourself first.
