Holding on

The rope is long this week.
Your hands are on the other end.
Pulling gently so I know you're there.
I need to hold on tight.
The wind is blowing, the rain is lashing. Don't let go.
I don't want to be swept away.
It's dark, cold and frightening out here.
I can see the glow of the sun rising over there.
Where the storm has passed and stillness is spreading.
It's where I want to be.
