One day I'll answer my phone and my heart won't race for you.
It's been a year and still the stitches in my chest RIP everytime I get a text.
Yesterday it was standing in the chow line.
Today it was sweat dripping down my brow line.
I had diabetes longer than I had you.
so why do I check my phone more than my sugar?
Maybe one day I'll actually message dad back.
In the end I guess people can change.
Today my phone was the one that died and I've never felt more alive.
