Transcendent
Amidst the turbulent tides of a violent sea; slick ocean dew beneath her, still --- she's anchored like a rock
Through rocking waves; she's cloaked in strength and firmly planted
Her scars are ornamental proof of war; worn proudly and accentuated with an adornment of ink
As heavy mists of brutal force rain and crash upon her; she breathes in its crisp scent of renewal
From lips splashed by it's salty essence; her faith resounds with a vengeance ---- "Fuck You", bellows as she blows forth a sated kiss
From battles conquered, were her wings earned and created;
forever, will she transcend amidst the turbulent tides of a violent sea

"fuck you"
as she blows forth a sated kiss
From battles won, were her wings earned and created;
forever will she transcend amidst the turbulent tides of a violent sea"
There is so much fierce strength in these words. To stand defiant and come out the other side, scarred and beautiful...and with such grace to grow and fly away. Brava!

Oh do I thank you dearly, Willow!! This one was a special write as I'm truly trying to embrace life for what it is. Also an ode to the many times when life has stomped me, healthwise and getting up each time to still kick ass!;)

Thank you. I appreciate the depth you put forth in commentary. It means a lot. I'm definitely the resilient girl put through life's hoops. I love having the chance to throw in a refrain. I did it more so with my old prose.

Thank you, my dear. The girl once hooked on erotica is now hooked on purging feelings, it seems. I'm growing up at 39!!!😅☺

Lol.
Feelings are a beautiful thing to write about, especially the way you do it.

I so agree that scars are ornaments. You poetically handle the subject with astute reflection and I see bravery in this spill.

They really are and I'm glad you appreciated it. I used to cringe at purging my feelings and now I'm watching the erotica slip. I guess I need balance as all writers should.

I like the power behind your words and how the narrator refuses to be put down. This is a splendid poem, and I congratulate you on a job well done.

Thank you one last time, my sweet friend. This is all ME as well, I just seem to write best in second person. Regardless, it is cathartic. Thank you for dredging through my pieces to catch up and by leaving such lovely comments.

Thank you. I really appreciate it! This girl isn't feeling too transcendent today so the irony of your comment on this piece feels like a reminder.;)
