Cold Winter Revelation
The bitter cold trials burn her lungs
as the harsh winter air drifts
Searching to illuminate her every
truth; through her soul, she sifts
Shivering in this frigid existence; all unravels before the frost
Amongst the pine trees tall is where she finds it; all is truly not lost
Only by the bitter cold trials of a harsh winters assistance -----
Has she found herself through all of it's tainted & bittersweet resistance

Shannon,
Another fantastic write. Beautifully self-reflective against the winter backdrop.
I love that second line 'through her soul she sifts'.
Pretty prose, young lady.
Love,
Matthew.

Thank you! Some people think I'm too gushy, but nice people's minds are beautiful to me, and I can feel their feelings, and I want to let them know how great they(and you) are.
Keep that beautiful mind writing, please.
Love,
Matthew.

Beautifully written. Though tomorrow it's supposed to be -40 with wind chill. I think I'm gonna find myself frozen 😫

This write seems truly relevant given the current climate in which I live. But also echoes the deep emotionality that such a season can bring...the frigid existence. I also sense a hopefulness in this line.
"Amongst the pine trees tall is where she finds it; all is truly not lost". Nice ink!

You know I despise winter, I think I've told you that. Usually it brings forth many melancholy feelings and while I've had those, I'm also finding some hope and holding onto change!! Thanks for your support.

Woah, that compliment made my day. I can't thank you enough. Although it wasn't about "the end", it was more so about a girl with a martyred spirit actually finding herself, not only in that essence, but indeed right in the winter season when all is usually bleak no matter what. Thank you

I totally got what you were saying. Thank you for that lovely sentiment about being a faceted piece, I'll cherish that one;)

My dear poetess,
I've always enjoyed reading your work, yet this particular poem moved me, especially. I hate winter, for a variety of reasons, and yet I felt a warmth pass through me as I read your words. Just like the woman described in your poem, I feel like I'll discover my true self after winter passes; my icy shield will thaw away and I'd be able to allow myself to feel again.
Bravo!
PS: Is your name Shannon? What a coincidence. My name's Sharon, although many people have misread my name as "Shannon," haha. Nice to properly meet you. c:

Yes ma'am, it is a nice to have a proper introduction, indeed!
I'm so happy to know this one touched you. This was my baby, this IS me. I've always loathed winter and still do. It's been quite an emotional year for me and it's so very strange to find such calm and peace reside in me during this terrible season. I finally feel found after a temporary loss of self. I so wish the same to you, Sharon. I will keep you in my thoughts, hoping you do. Big Hugs, girlie. I'm also humbled by the RL add.. Thank you!!
