It started 16 years ago with weed
Three hits an I was hooked
Cocaine an LSD followed
They were fun I was young life was a joke
A fifth year senior is were that got me
On to ketamine an xtc
I was a raver
O the fun times I miss them
Along came the devil or so I thought
Methamphetamine dreams is what I called her
3 years wasted pushed me up to 22
Never turned my back on weed fell outta love with the others
Four years of being a grown up
Wow I did it I made it lifes good
Then the prescriptions came
Xanax was like bein drunk to me
Others slept
For me it was fire an gasoline
Then I tasted my superman powers
Vikes 4-5 at a time
I could do the things of ten men now
Wow
Eventually it didn't last
Lady H finally called
Track marks look like bugs crawling
But that was short lived only a year
I'm no junky
Ha ya rite
Four years deep on pills
My superman powers long gone
I've now turned my back on weed
Never thought she'd leave me
It's all I can do to get out of bed
The pills are in my head

Sounds like you have some deep battles to deal with, I can relate to addiction myself it's not an easy road.

nice poem, its a fucked up, long road to recovery. but it def gets easier with time, good luck

I too have a very similar path with experimenting with all different kinds of drugs. I also threw raves in the late 90's in Dallas with Jumble Tribe. Back in the Hazy Daze collective days. I love me some Chicago house music. Anyway, good strong words on the road to recovery.
