Image for the poem the day

the day's melody

linger inside my past regret
taste tears of the day
in her morrow she forgot herself
she is rainbows at first blush
I am dark shadows at midnight

I walked the line of the damned
watch as I get to my feet
meet her in the light

kiss the diamonds falling from her eyes
capture them in a vial
as a trophy of today's victory

in a joyful way, the day cried just for me
she smiled inside herself
watching me sidestep madness
hopscotching insanity

giggling in spite of herself
she knows I understand a secret
with whispers on the wind
she told the sun above me to halo my head
so no shadows sneak up on me
