TEACH ME TO FISH
The voice of the poor
craving to my head.
from the depth of great despair
he pours out his heart.
Give me little sugar for my tea.
I dont want no cake
unless i be unwise and fake.
I want to earn my take
that I may some impact in life do make.
I pray for you to hear my plea,
kindly make a poor brother glee.
I don't want no cake
just a sugar for my tea
is all I ask with a plea.
Life is more than eyes can see,
likewise is tomorrow a mystery.
You never know what may eventually
come to be.
Whether riches or poverty
it dawns unannounced a reality.
I'm just a hungry man,
who wants none to be angry.
I just need little sugar for my tea.
I don't want no cake,
all i need is a break,
'cause my life is here at stake.
Teach me to fish!
Teach me to fish!!
and not your occasional gift of fish.
I don't want to be a leach
parasitically feeding by the day each.
Neither i'm i a man whose aim is to beggerly seek.
I want to earn my take,
with efforts I make.
Equip a brother for heaven's sake,
and see the difference it will make.
Teach me to fish,
not your pauperising gifts of fish.
I don't want no piece of cake,
i want to learn to fish,
that i may eventually come even to break.
Fending for family
and giving to charity.
Of what essence is humanity,
lacking symbiotic propensity? .
Teach me to fish,
that i may grow to earn my daily bread
and a roof over my head.
