On Poetic Forms, Nr.07 (Haikus & Senryus: Theory & Practice)

        
HAIKUS & SENRYUS - THE THEORY      
       
Fitting seventeen        
syllables, five-seven-five,        
in three lines is diffic hard.        
   
{NB: Haikus tend to make some mention of Nature; Senryus are more about human nature. I think the example below touches on both, so am not sure which one to call it}  
       
       
HAIKUS/SENRYUS - THE PRACTICE      
       
The Bounty        
       
Captain walks the plank.        
Mutineers wonder: what next?        
Pitcairn Island waits.

Number 7 in a series on Poetic Forms, including both Theory and Practice. The first poem uses the form itself to explain the 'Theory' of the form. The second poem uses the form as a random 'Practice' example. (On Poetic Forms 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 & 6 covered Quaterns, Limericks, Free Verse, Triolets, Ottava Rimas & Luc-Bats).
