Maybe Friends

She says that we can’t be friends
Maybe this is where it all ends
I know to us it doesn’t seem fair
But she knows my desire is still there
I want to inhale and breath you in
Soak in you until you wrinkle my skin
Swim in you until you pull me down
Be lost in you until I’ve drowned

She says that we can’t even be friends
She doesn’t trust afternoons or weekends
I know to us it doesn’t seem fair
But she knows my desire is still there
I still want you to do to me all the things you’d said you’d do
I still dream of engaging in the fantasies I'd do with you
You’re a constant dream and frequently you cross my mind
You’re always sexy and funny so I can’t leave the past behind

She says that we can’t be friends
Maybe this is where it all ends
I know to us it doesn’t seem fair
But she knows my desire is still there
You think I’m the liar who broke your heart and hung up on you
Who could blame you for it, but everything I ever told you is true
There’s still so much to tell you and so much to do, but she’ll have none of this
So, we’ll have to leave it at that and go our separate ways, Big Love/Big Kiss!

Just know that you’ll be forever in my heart though she may forbid
Because you took the time to love me when it seemed no one else did
