I loved,
I loved a man whose addicted to drugs.
A changed man was promised, but never expected.
You gave me a life I had wished to have never lived again.
I've lived,
I've lived in pain, and heart break.
You've cheated and still came back expecting me to kiss your feet,
as always i did.
I am done,
I am done with your games, lies, and pathetic first goodbyes.

Being in a close relationship with an addict is nearly impossible. Addiction stands at the forefront of the personality, and comes before love, compassion, family, or even food at it's worst. I cannot directly relate, but addiction is commonplace in my family , and has taken the lives of many of them.
I'm truly sorry, but I'm also really glad that you got yourself out of that situation. I liked the poem, and it was well expressed. Thanks for sharing your poetry!

Been there.
No matter how much you love a person with an addiction you always come in second. For everything they do is defined by what their addicted too.
