REALIZATION

 
you've never suffered,
i can tell by your ways.
that's why you judge me so,
you don't know fear or pain.

you don't understand me
and i hope you never do.
but i know how you are
because i used to be just like you.

i've been through hell
an i've known true fear.
i've felt real pain
and i've cried real tears.

but had i never felt that
i wouldn't be as strong
as i am now.
it was worth it after all.

i'm no longer stupid,
no longer naive.
i know better than to think
it can't happen to me.
