I wish I were a Bird
I wish I were a bird.
To fly soundlessly,
over lands and seas.
To go anywhere,
do anything;
with noone but the wind.
To feel the strength
of my wings.
To fly as high,
as fast,
as long,
as my body could go.
To sleep in the trees.
To carry nothing;
nothing but endless air,
streaming all around me.
Tohave all the smells fill me
with longing.
And I would go,
for what would I have to loose?
To explore every crevice
of this world.
To go where noone has gone before.
To look down on all things,
and feel pity for them.
For they are stuck.
Living as though they are caged.
To not be free as I would be.
But what would I do,
when all is found?
When there is nowhere,
nowhere else to go?
Would I wish to be me again?
Would I long for the life
I so wanted to leave?
I think maybe,
I'll just stay me.
To fly soundlessly,
over lands and seas.
To go anywhere,
do anything;
with noone but the wind.
To feel the strength
of my wings.
To fly as high,
as fast,
as long,
as my body could go.
To sleep in the trees.
To carry nothing;
nothing but endless air,
streaming all around me.
Tohave all the smells fill me
with longing.
And I would go,
for what would I have to loose?
To explore every crevice
of this world.
To go where noone has gone before.
To look down on all things,
and feel pity for them.
For they are stuck.
Living as though they are caged.
To not be free as I would be.
But what would I do,
when all is found?
When there is nowhere,
nowhere else to go?
Would I wish to be me again?
Would I long for the life
I so wanted to leave?
I think maybe,
I'll just stay me.
