Avalon
A tobacco fleck of amber grains
Caught in the gorse of your green iris
Those embers waiting to ignite
Naked under Orion’s light
Two hearts hidden in a hollow Yew
Each rooted one inside the other
I now see only the half of me
When I look into my mirror
Clouds roll low, deferring to the land
Eyes wet with loves confession
I hold the truth of you in my hand
And find the sadness you understand
Mists unveiling, Ashdown mourning
Revealing Avalon
Fern fronds green and heather grown wild
Conceals the light of our inner child
Making love with every breath
In our dreams and to our death
