Earth Poem
Down into the Cave go I
Down into the Mother’s heart
Where Spirit sleeps and flames don’t die
Where all of Life does end and start.
She sings to me from darkness’ depths
With ancient words that my Soul knows
That tell of why the Goddess wept
And how Her love forever flows.
The air is still, the tunnel chill.
I am inside the Earth.
I seek and find Her in the dark
She bathes my wounds and mends my heart.
In rock and stone, and woodland glen,
Wherever the Fair Ones dance and sing,
It’s to Earth I will return again,
When I am called from my travelling.
Down into the Mother’s heart
Where Spirit sleeps and flames don’t die
Where all of Life does end and start.
She sings to me from darkness’ depths
With ancient words that my Soul knows
That tell of why the Goddess wept
And how Her love forever flows.
The air is still, the tunnel chill.
I am inside the Earth.
I seek and find Her in the dark
She bathes my wounds and mends my heart.
In rock and stone, and woodland glen,
Wherever the Fair Ones dance and sing,
It’s to Earth I will return again,
When I am called from my travelling.
